“The Fireplace restaurant
Quite possibly the finest dining experience in all of Suzhou.
Chef Ahmed brings the best of land or sea to your plate in a very comfortable upmarket setting. With a menu which is constantly rotating throughout the year you can guarantee you'll never have the same dish twice.
The pairings with good wine suggested are usually perfect and the more robust drinkers will easily find something should they seek it.
The staff have fluent English and the standards of service are of the utmost levels.
Easy to get to as it is so central and the building itself has an interior from a science fiction novel.
It's not cheap but if you get the chance to go please take it, it's a million miles from Suzhou whilst retaining everything of its charm. A real treat.”
